Watch the Scuttling of a Supercarrier

Below is a video of the scuttling of the USS Oriskany off the coast of Florida, making it the largest artificial reef in the world, at a depth shallow enough to allow for recreational diving.
A little history on the USS Oriskany. Named after the Revolutionary War battle of Oriskany, construction on the Mighty O began in 1944 and took six years to construct, in part due to a pause in construction to allow for technological upgrades. USS Oriskany served tours of duty in both Korea and Vietnam, earning two battle stars for Korea and five for Vietnam. It was also famously known as the ship that John McCain flew from the day he was shot down and captured. USS Oriskany was decommissioned on September 30, 1976.

That really is just so cool. And the fact that they said it took 35 min. instead of 5 hours to sink is pretty neat too.
